More Super-delegates including Sam Nunn and David Boren have come out for Obama. Infact the AP says, “Obama appears on track to finish the primary campaign fewer than 100 delegates shy of the 2,025 needed to win.”
I hope this guy is right. I am really tired of being mad at Hillary and Bill Clinton and for that matter Chelsea. The sooner Obama can wrap this thing up, the sooner the Democrats can move-on to defeating John McCain and ending the Iraq fiasco.
While I do think Obama is closing in on victory, Sam Nunn and David Boren are not superdelegates.
This post may have been wishful thinking on my part.
It would be nice if the nominee could be talking about health care and ending the Iraq war rather than discussing who they live near or what they really meant when they claimed to be under sniper fire, hopefully the race will end soon. I think it will be Obama, I hope sooner rather than later.
Exactly. And the fact that Obama has to deal with all this crap while McCain faces no scrutiny is exactly why McCain’s current poll position is probably overrated.
It does not seem like McCain would do well under scrutiny. Especially if his temper is as bad as people say. The first time he blows up at a reporter should drop him a few points in the polls.
Maybe one of the reasons that the Democratic primary is being so hotly contested is that McCain seems so easy to beat. But to use a sports analogy the giants looked easy to beat as well.
One disconcerting number for the Dems is how many have vowed to vote for McCain if their preferred candidate does not take the nomination. It’s over 20%. Unless that number gets down under 10%, McCain could cruise into the White House.
I don’t like his temper, either!
Msnbc has an article up about McCains temper it does seem a little scary. The other scary thing is I might be one of those people who would have a hard time supporting Hillary if she got the nomination, I want to like her, and from my perspective she would be better than McCain, but I keep seeing her like Lieberman. Someone who gives lip service to liberal ideas but in the end will go to the right on every issue.
Gee Mr Bettor, she might be your type 🙂
caveat – – – that’s an example of people talking shit in the heat of the battle. If anyone honestly thinks that these people will vote Republican in November, they’re delusional. I can’t stand Hillary, but there’s no way I’d vote for McCain. At most, I’d sit it out…but the responsible decision would win out eventually, and I’d cast my vote not in favor of the candidate, but in favor of not allowing the policies of the last eight years to continue for another four.
We are about to become another one of history’s bankrupt empires.
Given that McCain represents a continuation of Bush’s policies, perhaps in some ways even worse it is probably true that most of us would have to hold are noses and vote for Hillary of it came down to it.
Although in some some ways Hillary seems like she would govern in a way very similar to Bush. If McCain picked a half-way decent running mate I might think about voting for McCain.
Then you’d have bombings and more occasions for soldiers and marines to go chasing windmills to their deaths.
The sad part about this election is that two thirds of the remaining presidential candidates are very pro-war. Hillarys comments about Iran make me think she is pretty likely to start a war with Iran just to show the country that she is tough. Plus the more I read her rhetoric the more it sounds like she really does agree with the war party.
After writing all that I agree she is a better choice than McCain but only marginally.
Starting a war with Iran does not meam hillary is tough. It’s so easy to send someone else’s child to war because it’s no skin off her back. I would like to see her talk that way with her own on the front line. Lets see how tough she is then. I would bet my life she wouldn’t be talking all that crap then.
I think John McCain has a son in the milatary, but for the most part war mongers never want to send their own sons and daughters off to war.
I guess John McCain is a different kind of war monger who doesn’t care if his son lives or dies. Although it is also possible that McCains son if he is indeed serving is in a very safe place while the little people insure his safety.
