Cavs-Spurs

Bruce Bowen ages a year in this series vs. Lebron, and the team that can figure it out consistently on defense and hit open shots will prevail. I was enlightened by something I read earlier today:

(CavsBlog) Reason to Believe #1: Cleveland is 2-0 against the Spurs this year. The Cavs played San Antonio twice this season. The first was the second game of the season way back in November (box score) and the second was the day after New Years’ (box score).

Are you picking Cleveland then? I’m going with San Antonio. I don’t think this Spurs steamroller is going to be stopped. They crushed Denver (my team), Phoenix, and Utah in a total of 16 games.

  2. No – I’m taking the Spurs in 5 games with a couple caveats…

Kobe Bryant beat the Spurs in two separate playoff series in the past, and both times San Antonio couldn’t find the basket in the 4th quarter. Having Lebron in a close game means that anything is possible. The Spurs looked just as good back then as they do now, and have been able to distance themselves in most games. I feel that with the strength of both benches, it is going to be a series as long as Cleveland can score points.

I’m not sure they can score points on San Antonio though. Their inside game is pretty horrible…especially when Zydrundas and Side Show Bob are on the floor at the same time!
