why is marjuana illegal
Originally, because it was a threat to the paper industry. From what I recall having read (and this is long term memory so I should be okay), Rexall (Dart) was a major source of the funding for the propaganda (Reefer Madness etc) and lobbying, as well. Add to that, the fact that in the seventies, our efforts to try and reform marijuana laws (NORML) became mixed up with other parts of the counter cultures politics and now it is more or less a ‘pissing war’ that the ‘conservatives’ will never let go of… but the battle of the Gulf of Tonkin REALLY was a load of lies. I could name so many positive things that would come of legalizing it …
