An Army of One

An Army of One in Iraq

This is what they were getting at with that slogan.  US Army soldiers charged with murder are having their grand jury hearings in Tikrit.  Lord knows there are plenty of defense attourneys willing to travel to Iraq…what the hell is going on here?  The Abu Gharib crew was tried stateside, and maybe that’s the long and short of it.  We need to gain political traction in Iraq, so from now on we’ll be offering these accused soldiers as sacrifices to Allah, and the people will view an American corpse killed by American justice…that will be the turning point.  Start killing our own, and our sincerity will become obvious to every Iraqi, and the insurgency will give up all at once.  Shit – – – all we had to do was REALLY embrace the ‘Army of One’ concept.

“All four soldiers charged are members of the Fort Campbell, Ky.-based 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. They have been jailed in Kuwait since their June arrests. Their first hearing is Aug. 1 near Tikrit, Iraq.”

    Al:
Thank you so much for being a voice on these issues. You dont know how much it means to have someone posting that understands whats going on and gives a damn. I am leaving for Texas today and will call you from the road in couple days. Its sad to say goodbye to California but I am ready to move on.

Sacrifices indeed. It will still be a military trial I presume?

I personally think the punishment for crimes committed in Iraq should be much more severe than the same crime committed at home. The acts of these alleged jackasses has the potential to create more violence and death.

But for today I’m going to try on RT’s blinders and just BELIEVE that things are going well. Hell, it’s Sunday, and I can’t be worried about atrocities committed on my behalf.

  3. They will receive military trials, but the right to hire one’s own defense attourney has been denied here. Sure, they can still seek one out, but the chances of one flying to Iraq…you can imagine.

So these guys are on trial for their lives, IN THEATRE, meaning the brass understands full well that they don’t want a replay of OJ just north of Baghdad.

Imagine what happens if one of these guys walks, beats the charge! That means the military just made their job even harder when it was hard enough already. You know they’re not about to let that happen.

Meaning these particular defendants are MEAT…we’re offering up our own as sacrifices, justice be damned.

    justice be damned.

Is there any such thing as battlefield justice?

This really is a no-win situation.

Hey Al, I meant to ask you… I just talked with my brother down in Boston. He said you guys may have had a tornado in Somerville? Heard anything about this?

  6. It’s worse than a no-win situation menace…it’s a situation where amateurs are calling the shots in Washington, and they could care less about what happens to ANY of those soldiers…only now is it so obvious as to be undeniable.

HOAT – – – I’ve got a business idea involving your upcoming mission, email me when you get a chance

  7. Didn’t hear of a twister in Somerville…going to have to check that out!

They’ve determined that it was a microburst.

    A couple of pics

  9. Somersville is on the north side of Boston – I’ve seen a couple of shows there, but mostly have just driven past it on I-93…my people reside mostly south of Boston in Weymouth. Microbursts…now how the hell does THAT happen? Even without the buildings, it’s not an area that’s flat really. Not flat like Missouri (probably the flatest I’ve ever seen personally)…down there you could see a thunderstorm and it’s lightning from 20 miles away…we had a couple twisters while I was down there, and it was easy to see how they’d feast on the landscape without having to climb or dip too often. Probably the #1 reason I’d never move to the midwest is the chance of being gobbled up by one of those deadly cones.

The State – Week in Review

    THE LATEST

The speaker of the Iraqi parliament criticized the U.S. involvement in Iraq on Saturday, likening the invasion and its consequences to “the work of butchers” and demanding that U.S. authorities disentangle themselves from Iraq’s political affairs.

American troops moved Saturday against the Mahdi Army of radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr in Musayyib, 40 miles south of Baghdad. U.S. and Iraqi forces backed by a helicopter gunship attacked a headquarters and killed 15 militiamen in a three-hour battle, the U.S. military said.

Think it’s bad over their now, wait until it’s a full scale shit sandwich with the Shiite militia.

  11. Logic would indicate that if the situation were reversed, we would be taking heed in the words of OUR leaders, rather than whatever the hell was being said in the foreign capitol. This all ties into trying soldiers in Tikrit…we’re going to kill a few of our own in hopes that statements like “the work of butchers” are uttered less often.

Yet another way the army screws the individual solider. I HAVENT HEARD ANY STORY ABOUT THIS before Al’s above post. These guys are getting fucked, and there ain’t no big titties attached.
