Puffy McMoonface Resigns

Here’s what the President had to say about the resignation of his press secretary:

“One of these days, he and I will be rocking in chairs in Texas talking about the good old days of his time as the Press Secretary, and I can assure you, I will feel the same way then that I feel now that I can say to Scott: job well done.”

I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation.  Of course, you know that this is an ongoing investigation.  I think the President has been clear that the administration is not going to comment on this because the investigation is ongoing.

Top story today on All Things Considered.

  2. Now I hear they’re thinking of replacing him with Tony Snow…a Fox News talking head! Bush doesn’t think he’s doing a bad job. He just needs to upgrade the spin.

  3. Wisenheimer says:

Tony Snow is one of the most annoying people on the face of the earth.

  4. Yea, he’s about as logical as Rumsfeld. In fact, I hear he’s got a degree in babble from Pat Robertson’s university.

    That’s some SERIOUS babble!

  5. Wisenheimer says:

A Master’s of Science in Babble.

    A real tool.

Snow should become the next White House spokesperson. He already does a pretty good job of it and he isn’t even on the payroll. At least this way he can get a check for it, and any future books put out by him would be bigger hits.

Personally I would really like to see Michael Buffer get the job.

    “Let’s get ready to rumble!…”

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice leaked national defense information to a pro-Israel lobbyist in the same manner that landed a lower-level Pentagon official a 12-year prison sentence, the lobbyist’s lawyer said Friday.

    Prosecutors disputed the claim.

The allegations against Rice came as a federal judge granted a defense request to issue subpoenas sought by the defense for Rice and three other government officials in the trial of Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman. The two are former lobbyists with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee who are charged with receiving and disclosing national defense information.

Defense lawyers are asking a judge to dismiss the charges because, among other things, they believe it seeks to criminalize the type of backchannel exchanges between government officials, lobbyists and the press that are part and parcel of how Washington works.

  8. Do as I say, not as I do. A terrible way to lead an organization. This is quite simple really…as all of us can remember the good bosses we’ve worked for and the horrible ones. Dollar to a doughnut – the terrible ones operated under the ‘do as I say, not as I do’ mantra.

Glad the judge is doing his job here!

General Miller will have to testify in the case of the second dog handler on trial right now…for a while now, Miller has said he’d lean on his 5th ammendment right to avoid self-incrimination, which SHOULD be unacceptable for his superiors for two reasons:

    1) It gives the impression that the defendant is right when he says it was asked of him to do these things. By jailing the troops and letting the generals get off, a bad message is sent to whoever’s still wearing the uniform.
    2) The protection given to Miller by his superiors lowers the credibility of the military as a whole. Honesty is a cornerstone in the military…doing the right thing when others cut corners…this goes against all of that.

It’s what happens when civilians call the shots. When suits control what takes place on the ground. In this case, suits who’ve never been in a war.

If you have ever dated someone who is manipulative they always wind up contridicting themselves. The administration seems to be at this point. They ignore rules of law when it suits them, but enforce the law when they think it will help them.

The Bush administration does not seem to have any goal other than to be in charge and it is starting to show.

  10. Just one of the houses…if we can take either the House or the Senate, this administration is doomed! Actually, even with GOP control of both houses they couldn’t manage it. Goes to show how much Republicans actually know about doing these jobs.

In fact, if we weren’t a democracy, they’d be just fine.
