Paul Pierce is the best player on the court, and sometimes that’s the difference in a basketball game. Make no mistake, Doc Rivers has these guys playing with a level of intelligence and intensity we haven’t seen in quite a while here in Boston. Pierce is able to beat his man in almost every situation on both ends of the floor, the Celtics have more rebounds and points in transition.
There’s still 2:35 to go, and with a 3 pointer from Rasheed Wallace, Detroit is up by one. Piston-Celtics matchups have been something special for a few years now, and tonight is no exception. Something special is happening with the Celtics this year…Detroit is still the champ, a fact Richard Hamilton reminded me of…if the game is a sign of things to come, this one will be easy to get over.
