A good lesson to learn in life is that you can pay someone top dollar to do something, or figure out how to do it yourself. A hobby of mine for a few years has been picking stocks, reading the Wall Street Journal, and just recently I’ve put together a mock portfolio. Start with 70K, and using My Yahoo create a portfolio based on the number of shares you bought at what price. Here’s the one I’ve put together:
Stocks
1. PRU-Prudential – 125 shares – $64.21 – 7991.25
2. MO-Altria – 125 shares – $69.48 – 8696.25
3. AAPL-Apple – 200 shares – $45.74 – 9168
Funds
4. FKINX-Franklin Income A-3750 shares – $2.50 – 9412.50
5. FWRLX-Fidelity Select Wireless-500 – $6.55 – 3285
